The Final Update for this Demo has come...


Hello All,

The Twisted Monk here, telling everyone my final update for Just One Night - the Initiation - Demo has come.  It's time to put it in Early Access on other platforms. Maybe get others interested, make a little something back, and give it a heck-of-a-good go. I'm thinking around Halloween would be a good time to put it up, given the time and money I've spent towards this "Project".

I'm going to keep the free 1hr Demo up, but I'm also going to put up a Buy Version. With the unlocked time limit, more features and areas, different playable actors to choose from, and everything that comes after the v1.21b update. Now I'll still be giving you guys updates on the progress and development of the "Project" as it goes on.  Just not on the Demo (unless someone finds a game breaking issue).

Update News and Changes to Version 1.21b :

No Need to Install Now ; The v1.21b Download is a bigger size Zip, but no need to install to play. Just un-Zip, Open the Folder, and Double click the .exe, pretty simple. This "Project" is huge in more ways than one, maybe even leaning towards Massive. Hence the file size.

New Player Abilities ; Closing your Eyes and Holding your Breath, are now needed things to have in this "Project".

Player Eye Exposure (Beta) ; Trying to bring the real feeling of a humans light/dark eye adaptation function to this "Project".

New Voiced Character ; I've starting work on some of the NPC's voiced dialog, and introducing Molly into this lovely adventure.

Randomized Everything* ; Most Furniture, Most Objects found in furniture, Most Clutter, Most Events, All Item locations, All Letter location, All Book locations, All Keys location... I could go on, but I think you get the picture.

Player Movement ; Smoother animation when moving in any direction, even when crouched. No more jumpy flashlight when you move around.

Better Post-Processing ; Depth-of-field, and Cinematic Effects are a huge improvement over the last update.

New Advanced Options ; Player Controlled FOV (in steps), Brightness Adjustment Slider (Beta), Hardware Benchmark Option (for Optimizing Settings to your system). All Settings will now be saved to disk, so you can set-it and forget-it.

New Saving System ; Discovering and using these Objects can save your progress, but they're limited to a small amount of Objects spawned.

Newly Completed Areas/Floors ; A completely new Basement level, Added/Redone rooms (Inside). Completed All Landscaping/Foliage, the Courtyard, the Graveyard, the Maze, the Shed. (outside)

More Events Throughout ; That's about all I'll say about it...

Other Changes ; Better Inventory system, Lighting improvements, Atmosphere improvements, Flashlight improvements, Sound, FX, Bug fixes, the list goes on. I've been developing this "Project" for about 11 months to 1 year now, and I have to say... No matter how hard I try, or how many times I go through it... The atmosphere still gets to me.

Things to know:

Roaming NPC still doesn't interact with player, No lip or facial animations for anyone, and some player animations are still rough. That's still just temporary, and I'm hard at work on learning how to animate actors better, and make things flow better throughout. I still need to Optimize things more to get a smoother frame rate, but it's getting there.
